Ahhh, summer. Still sifting through my new zealand photos. In related news, I have so many things going on at the moment I'm getting a bit overwhelmed, but so excited!!! I guess its a good thing I have the week end free to catch up on things!

Typewriters!

As you know I love all things vintage, but what I love even more is vintage items all done up, restore to its full glory plus more!

KasbahMod refurbishes vintage typewriters. I'll let the pictures do the talking. They are fully functional and everything too!

I am particularly fond of the chrome typewriter, a.k.a. The Ghost. I think its rather aptly named. I would love one to own and use but alas, I do not have room not $800. Though, I'm definitely adding this to my 'One-day-I-will-own-no-matter-what' list.

Thriftin them treasures: 80s drapes

I bought this classy 80s (I think) pencil dress with a draped v-neckline and the intention of pulling the skirt back for a tighter silhouette. As you can see, procrastination (and lack of sewing equipment) prevails once again and I didn't get round to it. Anyways, I pulled it out of the drawer depths and decided that it was the most appropriate dress I'd own for the wedding of Matthew and Priyanka.

The best and the worst thing about this dress are the shoulder pads. I've had many moments where I just want to rip them out (i.e. last photo and also, sometimes your shoulders end up on your chest or on your back because the shoulderpads move around..), then I catch a glimpse of its sometimes-super-shoulder-defining abilities and I leave them be. (i.e. first photo)

I got plain black suede pumps to match the dress but the impractical in me it doesn't have a tall enough platform. I'm sure my ankles and metatarsal bones aren't complaining.

Also, I have a green belt on. Duh

The wedding of Matthew and Priyanka Dennis

Last Saturday, I attended my first friend wedding. I was blown away at the size of the affair. I'm not sure if it was the norm, or a larger than usual wedding, but it was very grand. At the reception, we had beautiful 3 course meal and a massive dance floor equipped with a DJ and fancy light shows; something that I would be expected to pay $120 to get let into.

They had the sweetest ceremony peppered with lots of giggles and smiles, perfectly coiffed hair, freshly tanned skin and bashful glances. I was hard -not- to talk about the weddings we would like to have with Sandra. I am very sure every single girl was jealous of the bride to some extent on that day.

To Mr and Mrs Dennis, I wish you all the best and a have luxurious trip to Vanuatu! Thank you for the wonderful day!

...and so begins the age of weddings and engagement parties, and the end of the 21st birthdays!

Autopsy Jude goes to New Zealand: pt #4

To be honest, I cannot recall any of the names of the lakes pictured in this post, which is a shame because they are breathtaking. I also cannot remember the beautiful flowers that flank the gentle Lake Tekapo, though I vaguely remember they are considered to be a noxious weed because they literally are everywhere.
