Photo Slice: Progress Theatre

vintage suede jacket, mossimo shirt, brogue detail vans
Matt and I went on a walk one weekend around the neighbourhood and found this tiny theatre with the most amazing signage and font. Obviously, being fairly old, it is filled to the brim with history. Movies used to be screened in this tiny building from 1927 and it is now used as a ballet school. I stole the bottom photo from flickr. haha.

Photo Slice: Furnitex and Pasta

I'm way over due with posts so I'm going to give you a quick summary of what went down the past two weeks. ( Yes. it does seem like I last posted two weeks ago. This is unacceptable!)

I managed to sneakily get a trade pass for the Furnitex (as well as decoration+design and lightsource ALL FOR FREEE!!! xD) trade fair at the Melbourne Exhibition building. It was a MASSIVE exhibition and when i got to about 12/13ths of the fair, I gave up. I collected a shit load of flyers and business cards and its gonna take me a while to go through all of these (You'll find out why I'm hoarding all these business cards soon enough.)

It was really good however, and there were so many pretty things I wanted to take home (These trade fair stalls usually have a minimum order of about $1000. Unfortunately, I don't have this kind of money) There wasn't any photography allowed in the exhibition center, which was a pity and extremely annoying because I had to write every thing down instead. Also, it made me forget to take a photo of my outfit. (Yes, I'm blaming it on the fair's policy. haha)

I did manage to score this illustration print of a tortoise!! I can't wait to stick this in a limewashed or black wooden frame!

In other, non related news, I had alphabet pasta two weekends ago! I've been searching EVERYWHERE for these babies. Blame it on the childhood memories of eating alphabet pasta in mushroom soup. Delish! I made them in normal pasta sauce cause I'm not sure how Matt would react to pasta in mushroom soup. It didn't turn out as tasty and the pasta became all mushy it looked like cous cous which kinda defeated the purpose of having alphabet pasta in the first place. BUT not to fear cause I bought more-than-1 number of bags of it in case something like this happens.

Geometric Tribes

Clothes: Gareth Pugh, Jewellery: Laruicci
Not a fan of the song but the styling for Beyonce's Run the World video is right up my alley! Its some sort of geometric - tribe hybrid. I don't know what to call it.

Engagement Parties

Friends of Couture Dress, Tony Bianco Platform Wedge
I know platform wedges are so 1800s, but I've always prefered chunky shoes to strappy or pencil thin shoes. I've never found a reason to tip me over that teetering edge joing the wedge bandwagon until now. Same thing goes for that maxi black dress. (Except the black dress is in a pretty classic cut, so I'm safe for a lifetime as far as black dresses goes)

The weekend saw the first engagement parties of many to come, as my friend pool drifts into the 'engagement' demographic.

My favourite thing about these shoes are that they make my feet look like horse hoofs. Super cute. :D

Anyways, congratulations to Chris Tolhurst and Crystal-May Ryan on their engagement! You guys are amazing together and the party was estupendo!!! :D
