Extremely Practical Presents.
My granddad recently gave me a self sharpening pair of scissors, claiming it would be as useful as he found his, which was given to him by his late wife.
I'm excited on how this baby will serve me because my granddad has a knack of giving me pretty darn useful items.
On my 18th birthday, and because I was just starting Uni, my granddad bought me a black and white laser printer. I cannot even try to start explaining to you how useful a working printer is that is not going to constantly run out of ink ever half a month for uni (OK I know I'm exaggerating)
It is extremely efficient and I haven't had to change the (albeit expensive) toner cartridge since I got it.
Another beast to add to my list of Extremely Practical Presents: My first ever camera my Dad gave me when I was 15. I can't really imagine what kind of hobby I would have fallen victim to if not for this handy little image capturing device. Other hobbies just aren't cool enough. (Unless, the camera has actually PREVENTED me from finding my TRUE hobby, but I don't think I should think about that.)
I wished I had the giving-practical-presents skill. I once gave my class mate way too many erasers and pencils for his birthday because he kept using mine(not that I got annoyed). I don't think the plan worked though.
So in honor of Listography,
Best Practical Gifts as of today(in no order!!):
1. Laser Printer from my Granddad
2. Multiple phone handsets from my Dad, always top of the line
3. Camera from my Dad
4. Dr Marten boots from unfortunately, an Ex- suitor (HAHA)
5. Calcium/ Fish Oil/Seeds/Spirulina supplements from my Mom
6. Hairdryer from my Granddad (again, ho ho ho)
7. Sneakers from my Dad
8. Bunch loads of stationery from my Mom
